Opening for LVT on the Eastern Shore of Virginia
Do you dream of living in a quiet, rural area that's always close the beach? Want to work in a well equipped animal hospital in Virginia with some of the finest people around? Well we have the job for you!
Atlantic Animal Hospital currently has an opening for a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our busy, two doctor animal hospital.
Atlantic Animal Hospital is a small animal, general practice on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Our two doctors, Dr. Michele Leatherbury and Dr. Jack Hiler, are excellent vets skilled in all aspects of general practice from basic preventative care to involved orthopedic surgery. Our staff is compassionate and committed to providing the best patient care and client services. Our clinic is well equipped with an in-house lab, complete anesthetic monitoring, digital x-ray and a separate dental suite (with digital dental x-ray). The Eastern Shore of Virginia is a very peaceful, rustic location with an epic view! On the western side of the peninsula is the Chesapeake Bay and on the eastern coast is the
Atlantic ocean. So the way of life here is based on the water in so many aspects. No matter where you are on the Shore you are only minutes away from a fun time on the water, or enjoying the other natural beauties it has to offer, like the Chincoteague ponies.
The successful candidate will preferably have 2+ years of experience as an LVT at a small animal practice. You will be hired as our only LVT, so we will depend on you for sedations, anesthesia, dental cleanings and charting, pain management, etc. Therefore experience with anesthesia prep and monitoring, as well as dental cleaning and charting are a must. Our ideal candidate must also understand the importance of high quality medicine and patient care, act as a team player, communicate well with clients and be willing to deliver excellent client service with a positive attitude.
Our goal is to find a LVT that fits into our work family. We need a tech with the willingness to work with two different doctors, and meet the varying needs of both. Our last LVT was with us for 12 years, and our work environment fosters long term relationships.
Our compensation package includes state license fees, VALVT dues, a very well managed 401(k), profit sharing, annual CE benefits, health insurance premiums paid in full, vacation time, sick time, and bereavement leave (though we hope you never need to use it). The biggest benefit however is working with the best coworkers and patients on the Eastern Shore!
